"In the biotechnology domain, there is a need for accelerating the R&D and post R&D processes. The Department of Biotechnology is announcing this Call for Proposal (2025-26) in order to apply the artificial intelligence to resolve the biotechnological challenges for enhancing the research & development capability, boosting the industrial growth as well as supporting the start up ecosystem. This Call is open to Indian Scientists/Faculties including Computer Scientists, Engineers, Clinicians either alone or as a team involving the Industrial partner(s)."
J. C. Bose Grant is a restructured scheme to recognise senior scientists/engineers for outstanding research, providing an individual-specific research grant of Rs. 25 lakh per year plus fixed overheads, for 5 years.
"The Department of Biotechnology invites proposals from eligible universities, academic institutes, research organizations and medical/agricultural institutions for establishment or up‑gradation of Bioinformatics Centers under BIO-GRID to support advanced research and training in life sciences, biotechnology and health. Proposals are sought in areas including not limited to: genomics and transcriptomics data analysis, structural and system biology, AI/ML in biology, computaional drug discovery, agricultural and environmental bioinformatics, and development of open-sccess tools, databases and resources relevant to national priorities. The DBT- BIOGRID Programme for establishment or up‑gradation of Bioinformatics Centers has been meticulously designed with ambitious yet achievable objectives that align with India's broader vision of becoming a global biotechnology hub by 2030. The biodiversity of the region includes not only tropical and sub-tropical biota but those of temperate and alpine regions due to its altitudinal gradient. The Himalayan Bio-resource Mission, a flagship initiative of the Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India was launched in the year 2021. Department of Biotechnology have been at the forefront of funding research in Himalayan Region of India to scientifically address challenges specific to these regions. The Aim of the Call is to invite and support “translational and transformative proposals creating opportunities for increasing productivity in the region."
Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) announces call for proposals for the new scheme called ANRF J. C. Bose Grant. The ANRF J. C. Bose Grant is meant to recognize active, senior scientists and engineers within our country for their outstanding performance and contributions. The prestigious ANRF J. C. Bose Grant is individual-specific, very selective and encourages senior level researchers for extra-mural funding to further enhance their research in frontline avenues. The nominations for senior scientists and engineers aged 45-65 years and working with Indian institutions/universities may be submitted through the ANRF online portal.
