International Research Training Groups IRTGs, in which German universities cooperate with research institutions in other countries, combine innovative top-level research and the structured promotion of excellent early career researchers. As bilateral collaborations set up by experienced scientists, IRTGs promote systematic scientific cooperation through joint research programmes and corresponding qualification measures for post doctoral researchers. Applications for Indo-German IRTGs intended for DFG-DST funding are open to all subject areas covered by DST, and interdisciplinarity in joint projects is encouraged.
The Raman-Charpak Fellowship programme is in honour of two Nobel Laureates in Physics, Prof C.V. Raman, Indian Nobel Laureate (1930) and Prof Georges Charpak, French Nobel Laureate (1992). The aim of this fellowship is to facilitate the exchange of doctoral students between the two countries, in order to broaden the scope and depth of future engagements in Science, Technology and Innovation. This programme is now also open to French Master Students, who wish to spend some time in India in accordance to their curriculum.
ANRF plans to establish a Centre of Excellence for Science, Technology and Innovation Indicators and Analytics (COE-STIIA) with the aim to strengthen the institutional mechanism for STI indicators with an end-to-end system. The key objective is to enhance the quality, contextual relevance and applicability of India’s STI indicators, their analysis, interpretations and dissemination of information and insights at various levels of policy and program planning, as well as foster alignment with the global indicator frameworks to position India effectively in international indices. The CoE is expected to integrate the STI indicator data with the Anusandhan Master Platform for Research and Innovation (ANUMAPI), a unified National Dashboard being developed to disseminate data/information related to research funding, projects, institutions, and outcomes across the country.
The Biotechnology Ignition Grant (BIG) is a flagship scheme of BIRAC that recognizes and invests in innovative ideas in the biotech sector. The ideas should have clear potential to translate into commercial products/technologies. BIG supports early stage start-ups from ideation to Proof of Concept (PoC). Under the BIG scheme, BIRAC provides a grant-in-aid of upto INR 50 lakhs for a period of 18 months.
"Advanced Materials has been identified as a key area under ANRF and MeitY, to be engineered for specific, high-impact applications. ANRF has approved the initiative of starting a mission with a program on “2D Material Research Fab and Innovation Hub” under the priority areas of Advanced Materials under MAHA in collaboration with Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). Now, ANRF and MeitY have announced the Call for proposals for establishing the “2D Material Research Fab and Innovation Hub (2D Innovation Hub)”."
"Applications under the present RFP are invited from school students (Classes VI–XII) across India to conceptualize innovative designs and solutions using microbes, molecules, and biotechnology to address real-world challenges. Students are expected to display their basic understanding of the BioE3 Policy and its possible implementation through imaginative, creative and concise videos. Participants are encouraged to highlight the novelty, feasibility, and potential contribution of their ideas towards a sustainable, clean, and self-reliant future for our country."
Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) is mandated to spearhead a new era of directed Research & Innovation in the country, translating ideas into tangible national and societal outcomes. Under its Mission for Advancement in High-Impact Areas (MAHA) program, ANRF promotes mission-mode, solution-oriented research. The newest flagship initiative under ANRF MAHA is Artificial Intelligence for Science & Engineering (AI-SE) , launched in collaboration with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), and Scientific Departments.
"The programme is a multilateral initiative involving BRICS member countries. It seeks to promote collaborative research and innovation under the BRICS STI umbrella. The program aims to build a consortium of minimum two (2)member states (Project consortia) focused on technology maturation, and development of a business model towards future commercialization and market deployment of innovations."
This collaborative Industrial R&D Programme is between Sweden´s Innovation Agency (Vinnova) Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India, and Technology Development Board (TDB) at India's Department of Science & Technology.
"The DSIR through the PACE scheme provides catalytic support to industries and institutions for development and demonstration of innovative product and process technologies, traversing the journey from proof of concept or laboratory stage to pilot stage, so that they can be launched for commercialization. The scheme supports ingenious work and assists in development of new technologies or creative/innovative application of the existing technologies to solve unmet needs of industry. The scheme also strengthens the interface between industry, R&D organizations/ academic institutions/ universities/PFRIs (Public Funded Research Institutions) by supporting collaborative proposals."
This collaborative Industrial R&D Programme is between Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India, Technology Development Board (TDB) at India’s Department of Science & Technology and The National Research Council Canada (NRC) and Global Affairs Canada, Government of Canada.
Department of Science and Technology (DST) and Institut National de Recherche en Informatique et en Automatique (Inria) launched a targeted programme to foster collaboration between scientific Communities of two countries in the area of Information and Communication Science & Technology. In India, on behalf of the Department of Science & Technology, Indo-French Centre for Promotion of Advanced Research (IFCPAR/CEFIPRA) invites proposals from the Indian scientists / researchers.
