Faculty and Scientists

ICMR has embarked upon an International fellowship programme for capacity strengthening of scientists of our country. The scheme has been constituted to achieve the objective of building up a highly skilled pool of biomedical researchers in all aspects of biomedical research including basic, applied, epidemiological and clinical sciences. The duration of fellowships for Young Scientists is 3 - 6 months while it is 10 - 15 days for Senior Scientists. The number of fellowships for Young Scientists is 12 per year while the same is 6 per year for Senior Scientists. The age limit is 45 yrs and 57 yrs for Young and Senior scientists respectively.The individual scientist availing this Fellowship would be addressed as an ICMR International Fellow (ICMR-IF).The Young Scientists would be given US$ 3000 per month which includes accommodation and other expenses. The Senior Scientists are entitled to US$ 200 per day (including US$ 75 as per diem and up to US$ 125 for accommodation expenses, subject to a maximum of US$ 3000 for entire duration of stay). In addition, the awardees would be provided Return economy class excursion airfare (by Air India) and Contingency grant of upto Rs. 20,000/- as per actuals (which includes visa fee, taxi charges from place of duty to airport and back, overseas medical insurance).

1. The applicant should be a citizen of India and working in the country. 2. The applicant should possess an M.D./M.S./Ph.D. degree (M.D./M.S./M.D.S. or MBBS/BDS/MVSc./M.Sc./M.Pharma/M.Tech or equivalent with Ph.D. in health/biomedical research) with at least three years of experience in teaching/research in a recognized Institute after obtaining the requisite qualification. 3. The applicant should submit a letter of acceptance from the host Institute where he/she proposes to work during the fellowship. 4. The recognition letter from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) for candidates belonging to Private Colleges/Universities should be submitted.
