• The immediate deliverables would be a prototype system for self-localization and navigation implemented on a ground robot and capable of navigating from a base station to a set of navigation points and back to base, considering both a stationary base and a moving base.
• For coordination with the moving base, a communication link between the robot and the base station would be established using wireless communication modules such as WiFi, Xbee, etc.
• Detection methods for precise visual navigation for returning to base would be implemented based on visual markers on the base station.
• Groundwork for extension of this methodology to multi-rotor UAVs.
• The above project can demonstrate the deliverables on a specific use-case with the possibility of extending to other applications/use-cases.
