About

The key deliverable of this project is a working prototype of the low-cost DVL, demonstrating the integration of design optimizations and performance enhancements. Additional rounds of productization and productionising efforts will yield a field deployable, small form-factor DVL for integration with underwater vehicles and platforms. ● DVL configuration that will yield a reliable altitude range of 0.5-30 metres which will cover most of the operating requirements for low cost AUVs. Subsequent iterations on sensor design, wet end electronics and assembly jigs to extend the operating range to 50 m based on feedback from field testing. ● Achieve a velocity resolution of 0.5 mm/sec at low power budget of 5-10 Watts ● Compact form factor of sub 100 mm (depends on finalisation of the frequency of operation) ● Depth rating better than 100m
