In the case of sickle cell disease, we monitor viscosity changes under deoxygenation conditions. To support these diagnostics, we aim to develop a commercial smear preparation device and an IoT-enabled imaging system. Initial laboratory testing will be performed on a small cohort of approximately 50 samples, followed by methodological improvements and large-scale validation with around 500 samples.
