Two wheelers are a popular means of transportation in India. There are millions of bikes in every major Indian city, with total estimates of around 50 million across the country. However, there are no mandatory standard safety instalments in bikes, as there are in cars, such as seatbelts and airbags. Thus, there is a clear need to create systems that provide better safety for bikers across the country. The device will be used to alert authorities in case of an accident and can make the bike easier to track in case of theft or wrongdoing by the driver. The electronic device created through this project can also provide a baseline report on the driving habits and driving quality of bikers, helping create a nation-wide database that can be used to assess road safety in various parts of the country.
