About

The purpose of this research is to fabricate metal composite foams (MCF) that exhibits ultra-lightweight properties, exceptioNol mechanical strength, and effective energy absorption capabilities, along with improved sound absorption and the ability to withstand high temperatures. Proposed plan includes fabrication of metallic composite foams via powder metallurgy technique followed by depositing a thin layer of Ni layer on the metal foams using electroplating method. The main aim of this project is to study corrosion characteristics, energy dissipation behavior and acoustic absorption coefficients of the developed foams for underwater applications.
