Fossil fuel depletion and search for renewable sources are the motivating problems that the technology serves to address. Fuel reforming is a way of producing high calorific value fuels like hydrogen from hydrocarbon sources. A thermal partial oxidation based reformer achieves this in a self-sustained manner by reforming biofuels such as ethanol, biogas etc. A compact hydrogen producer which can be used for captive energy production either for mobility or domestic/industrial applications will be delivered. A prototype has been developed and demonstrated. Flame stabilization was achieved for extended periods of operation. Design improvement through additively manufactured reformer is currently underway.
