About

Trapped atoms in 1D, 2D, or 3D lattices can be used as qubits since they possess all the required features, such as states with long coherence time and the possibility of initialization and readout. Further, this is a very attractive platform for quantum computation due to the scalability, comprehensive manipulations of the qubits, and the possibility of turning off and on the interaction between the atoms on demand. The project aims at developing these systems locally such that they may be used in high precision laser spectroscopy laboratories in India.
