The project aims to explore, design, and develop a robust framework for implementing and adopting Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) in India, referred to as the e₹ (digital Rupee).
The project seeks to align the digital Rupee with the functionality of physical banknotes while leveraging its digital nature to ensure faster, easier, and more cost-effective transactions. It addresses the limitations of existing state-of-art methods, offering programmable, secure, and efficient digital transactions.
The project aims to leverage the programmability of CBDC to create a closed-loop transaction system within an institutional campus, benefit transfer, and explore offline CBDC transaction capabilities.
The project also proposes conducting CBDC transactions through the integration of a secure USB dongle
The dongle will leverage a Secure Application Framework designed for both web and mobile platforms, providing users an additional layer of security.
