The major objective of the semen diluent is to improve the reproductive efficiency of male birds and to reduce the cost of artificial insemination technique that permits the diluted semen to be inseminated in to more numbers of hens that is not possible by undiluted semen in addition, a major portion of the freshly ejaculated undiluted spermatozoa start to lose their integrity just after collection of semen from male. Therefore, to obtain the best fertility by artificial insemination it is necessary to have the suitable simple diluent for chicken semen. Commonly available extenders are more complex in their composition and need the adjustment of pH resulting in more time in preparation and are very expensive. Keeping in view the above facts, in the present study a simple and new diluent was prepared for the preservation of chicken semen at low temperature.
