The invention relates to a method to assess corrosive resistivity performance of various coatings on reinforcement bars, which allows selection of a coating composition providing improved corrosion resistivity performance of the reinforcement bars. The invention further relates to a coated reinforcement bar providing improved corrosive resistivity performance for application in structures near coastal areas.
