IN346320: A novel activated carbon and a process for the preparation thereof
A novel activated carbon exhibiting a feature of carbon and calcium oxide. It finds application as filler material for rubber sole and tyre tread manufacturing, to obtain good vulcanized rubber, when compared with conventional rubber prepared using carbon black as filler. It may also be chemically activated and used as adsorbent for removal of toxic metals from waste water. The invention also provides a process for the preparation of the activated carbon from limed animal fleshing.
