IN273778: A process for production of improved quality feed stocks from fcc bottoms for catalytic cracking and conversion into industrial carbon materials
The invention provides a process for the simultaneous production of improved quality feed stocks and industrial carbon materials from Fluid Catalytic Cracking (FCC) bottoms (clarified oil).Clarified oil is extracted with solvent to separate non-aromatics from aromatics. Aromaticity (Bureau of Mines Correlation Index- BMCI) of aromatic extract is at least 139. The improved quality feed stock has a low percentage of aromatics which results in reduction in coke lay down on cracking catalyst.
