The invention provides a process for the preparation of a zeolite molecular sieve adsorbent for the selective adsorption of oxygen from its gaseous mixture with argon. More particularly, the present invention provides a process for the preparation of an adsorbent, which is more selective towards oxygen from a gaseous mixture of oxygen with argon, and also relates to the processes which utilize this adsorbent as an oxygen-selective adsorbent.
