IN286626: A process for the preparation of collagenous film for opthalmic applications
The invention relates to a process for the preparation of a collagenous film from a source of fish collagen for ophthalmic applications. The film finds enormous application as corneal implant. Fish scale, which is usually discarded as a waste, finds application in preparing this value added product. The corneal implants prepared through the invention are stable in DMEM and F12 medium up to 21 days and allow growth of limbal corneal cells on its surface.
