IN330403: An efficient process for the preparation of glycerol carbonate and glycidol
The invention discloses a process for the preparation of glycerol carbonate and glycidol by reacting dimethyl carbonate with glycerol in presence of ionic liquid as catalyst to obtain glycerol carbonate which is in-situ converted to glycidol. The invention further discloses novel ionic liquids.
