IN347878: Selective extraction of heavy metal ions using crown ether anchored polymer support
The invention relates to the selective removal of strontium and lead ions using glycidyl methacrylate-co-ethylene dimethacrylate polymer [poly(GMA-co-EDMA)] supported dibenzo-18-crown-6-ether as selective metal chelating agent and its method of synthesis. Epoxy based copolymer was obtained using glycidyl methacrylate as a monomer and ethylene dimethacrylate as a crosslinker in the presence of 1,2-dichlorobenzene as a porogen.
