About

Microwave Tube Research & Development Centre (MTRDC), a laboratory of Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), is focused on research and development in technologies relating to the development of advanced microwave tubes and related systems. The centre is developing advanced Travelling Wave Tubes (TWT) for applications in Electronic Warfare (EW) and RADARs. The Centre is also developing multi-beam klystrons (MBK)/multi-beam TWTs and Microwave Power Modules (MPM) and MPM/MBK-based transmitters for compact strategic systems. The centre is also working on high-power microwave sources, mm-wave Gyro devices and cathodes. The centre, having established a strong base in the design and development of microwave tubes, TWTs and cathodes, some of which have already been productionised, has ventured into the area of microwave power modules and transmitters.
