National Informatics Centre (NIC), established in 1975, is the premier science and technology organization for informatics services, information and communication technology (ICT) applications. The NIC hosts over 10,000 e-Governance applications and offer data centre and cloud services to the government and plays a vital role in steering e-governance applications in the governmental departments at national, state and district levels, enabling the improvement in, and a wider transparency of government services.
