ICAR-National Bureau of Fish Genetic Resources (ICAR-NBFGR) was established in 1983 with a vision of assessment and conservation of fish genetic resources for intellectual property protection, sustainable utilisation and posterity. Its mandate is the maintenance and preservation of fish genetic resources for the conservation and utilisation of prioritized species.
