Central Institute of Fisheries Education (CIFE) is a leading Fisheries University having a distinguished heritage and has nurtured many illustrious scholars and leaders over the years. The major research focus of the institute broadly relates to diversification in aquaculture including the development of new strains, development of technologies in which salt-affected unproductive lands can be transformed into productive aqua farms, management of aquatic resources and biodiversity, climate change, post-harvest and value addition, newer aquafeed resources, increased emphasis on biotechnology and nanotechnology, fish vaccines and ecosystem and extension services.
