Atomic Minerals Directorate (AMD) for Exploration and Research is the oldest unit of the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE). The Directorate is presently employing latest technology viz. Time Domain EM system along with gamma-ray spectrometer and magnetometer for airborne geophysical surveys, and multi-disciplinary field operations viz. geological, geophysical, Geo-chemical surveys on regional as well as detailed scale and drilling activities by induction of state of the art hydrostatic rigs. The Directorate also has Beach-sands & Offshore, Rare metal and rare earth Investigations Groups and very well equipped Physics and Instrumentation Groups.
