INSPIRE-MANAK (Million Minds Augmenting National Aspirations and Knowledge)

INSPIRE MANAK (Million Minds Augmenting National Aspiration and Knowledge) an unique initiative aimed at attracting talented school students at an early age (in the age group of 10-15 years and studying in Class 6-10) to study science and pursue a research career, while fostering a culture of innovation among them.

This is a scheme of the Department of Science and Technology under its flagship programme Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research (INSPIRE).

The INSPIRE-MANAK scheme targets ten lakh ideas from more than five lakh middle and high schools across the country every year. Out of these, one lakh ideas are eligible for the INSPIRE Award of Rs. 10,000/- each.

Schools can provide nominations of 5 students through the online mode, every financial year. Received online nominations are scrutinised based on the ideas provided by the students, and selected students participate in District, State and National Level Exhibitions and Competitions. The participants of National Level Exhibition & Competition (NLEPC) are provided mentorship at premier educational and technical institutions of the country. The top sixty projects are rewarded as national winners every year.
