Various non-enzymatic methods based on fluorescent polymers, gold nanoparticles, gold clusters, Rhodamine-B and carbon dots capable of detecting glucose were developed. Our approaches are novel and results emerged indicate the tremendous possibilities to design simple methods to visualize glucose in aqueous media without employing expensive tools. However, analytical tools have to be used to quantify the exact amount of glucose in a given medium. The design and development of appropriate measuring device capable of quantifying glucose has been taken up by Vinvish Technologies, Trivandrum.
