Project Overview

The proposed project is aim for developing the lanthanide activated SrF2 and/or CaF2 phosphors which will be able to give simultaneous downshifting and upconverted emission. A simple hydrothermal and/or chemical method will be adopted to synthesize the phosphors. The proposal includes a thorough investigation of the structural, morphological, particle formation and size, etc. of the phosphors. Luminescent properties of the prepared samples will be examined in detail with the steady state luminescence and its dynamics along with absolute quantum yield. The thoroughly investigated samples will be brought for the preparation of security ink using suitable polymers. Subsequently, the spectral properties will be analyzed via luminescence studies. Further, the prepared ink will be used for screen printing. The printed marks will be observed for their fluorescence under the exposure of UV and NIR light for visual confirmation. The optimized ink will be checked for its durability. Also, it is intended to make ink suitable for inkjet printing.
