Project Overview
This proposal aims to understand how an open quantum system behaves when strongly coupled with single or multiple environments or baths. The research will focus on understanding the impact of strong coupling and non-Markovian physics on designing efficient quantum devices like quantum heat engines and absorption refrigerators. The research will develop thermodynamically consistent theoretical and computational tools to investigate the role of strong coupling and non-Markovian physics in open quantum systems. The goal is to understand non-equilibrium steady-state transport properties in the presence of strongly coupled multiple baths and explore whether collective effects due to strong system-bath coupling can lead to optimal quantum device design.
