About

The mesoporous silica nanoparticles (MSN) have larger pore sizes, increasing drug loading capacity, and sustained release at target sites. Our preliminary studies depict the set of signaling events by docetaxol with tamoxifen citrate loaded HMSN (DCTC-HMSN) that may initiate phosphorylation of oncoproteins leading to apoptosis. The present study would focus on the use of graphene quantum dot capped hallow mesoporous silica photothermal nanocarrier (GQD-HMSN) loaded docetaxol with tamoxifen citrate (DCTC-HMSN) and 5-fluorouracil with gemcitabine (FUGC-HMSN). The synergistic effect of the drug loaded GQD-HMSN on the induction of cell death would be accessed through proteomics approaches followed by elucidating the signaling mechanism in both In vitro and In vivo models. Future prospects of this area include conjugating photothermal with nanoparticles for effective delivery and sustained delivery to the clinical samples or drug resistant breast cancer.

Achievements

The study successfully established a multi-pronged strategy to target EMT and MDR in TNBC using signaling inhibitors and nanocarrier-based drug delivery. The translational potential was validated in in vitro and 3D tumor spheroid models, laying the groundwork for future preclinical advancements.
