About

Cervical cancer is the second most common cancer worldwide and one of the gravest threats to women’s lives. Current screening programs require extensive healthcare systems, regular access to trained health professionals, and validated laboratories capable of providing standardized pathological diagnoses. Here we proposed to identify specific peptide /aptamer-based electrochemical /paper diagnostic devices is an affordable, non-intrusive, real-time test for cervical cancer for the detection of HPV from biological fluids.

Achievements

Successfully collected and PCR-confirmed clinical samples (urine and vaginal swabs) from HPV-positive and healthy individuals across Northeast India. Developed two electrochemical immunosensors targeting HPV16 E7 and HPV18/16L1 proteins with ultra-sensitive detection limits. Demonstrated the use of a gold-graphitic carbon nitride (Au-g-C₃N₄) nanocomposite and gold nanoparticle-enhanced electrodes for high-specificity biosensing. Completed morphological and electrochemical characterization of sensor platforms(SEM,TEM,XRD, CV, SWV, and EIS), ensuring high reproducibility and analytical performance.
