Project Overview
This N-PDF proposal projects the visible-light-induced generation and functionalization of electrophilic siloxy metallocarbenes derived from acylsilanes using transition-metal catalysts. While nucleophilic siloxycarbenes are well studied, the electrophilic variants remain underdeveloped.
This research aims to develop new methods for X–H and C–H bond insertions, cycloaddition reactions, and trapping strategies to synthesize valuable organic molecules such as indole derivatives, secondary/tertiary alcohols, and substituted alkenes/alkynes. These compounds have wide applications in pharmaceuticals, natural products, and fine chemicals.
Mechanistic studies will be conducted to understand metal-carbene behavior, and the methods developed will contribute to green, sustainable chemistry aligned with national scientific goals.
