Project Overview
This project aims to develop a novel platform for photo-microdroplet chemistry, leveraging light-induced reactions at the air–water interface of microdroplets to discover new interfacial photochemical transformations and enable environmentally benign synthesis. By integrating customized spray systems with both online mass spectrometric detection and offline product collection, the project will allow real-time monitoring and comprehensive characterization of light-driven reactions enabled by the interface. Representative model systems, including radical cascades and photoinduced oxidative processes, will be investigated to demonstrate the platform's potential in discovering previously inaccessible reaction pathways and enabling green synthetic methodologies. This approach should offer significant promise for advancing sustainable chemistry and uncovering unique reactivity at aqueous interfaces.
