Project Overview
The increasing global demand for clean and sustainable energy has positioned hydrogen as a key player in the energy transition. Green hydrogen microgrids, integrating renewable energy sources with regenerative fuel cells (RFCs), offer a promising solution for reliable and environmentally friendly power generation. The proposed project focuses on the design, integration, and optimization of a green hydrogen microgrid system utilizing regenerative fuel cells (RFCs) for reliable and sustainable energy solutions. The primary objective is to develop a seamless integration and control strategy that enables the microgrid to operate efficiently in both grid-connected and standalone modes. This system will integrate renewable energy sources, such as solar and wind, with hydrogen production through electrolysis, energy storage, and RFCs. The project will be executed in three key phases: Design and Simulation, where system modeling and control strategies will be developed; HIL Simulation, where hardware-in-the-loop testing will validate the control algorithms under real-time conditions; and Hardware Implementation and Testing, which will involve building a physical prototype and conducting extensive testing to assess system performance, stability, and reliability. The outcome of this research will be an advanced green hydrogen microgrid system that can support flexible and reliable energy solutions, contributing to the ongoing development of sustainable energy infrastructures and furthering the application of hydrogen technologies in power systems.
