Project Overview

The electronics revolution has led to an increase in embedded applications within wireless devices, requiring high data-rate and efficiency. To meet these demands, wireless industries have synchronized their device manufacturing standards. Most wireless devices now have embedded technologies catering to multiple wireless applications and standards. However, there are several project gaps that need to be addressed. 1. Integration of multi-resonant structure for multiband response: A printed resonator can be converted into a multimode resonator using transmission line analysis, impedance analysis, and modal analysis. This technique is simple, robust, and scalable, and can be applied to various applications. The current limitation with multimode resonators is their dimensions being within a quarter or half wavelength of the operating frequency, causing physical size and surface area to exceed. 2. Merging of 0th and 1st order resonance: The technique aims to identify and merge closely spaced resonances, such as zeroth order (ZOR) configurations, which support infinite wavelength at non-zero frequencies. This technique can be facilitated by unit cell analysis and proper adjustment of reactance within the unit-cell. 3. Integration of ESA with wireless device and testing: The designed antenna will be embedded in a wireless device and tested for its impedance and radiation characteristics, ensuring the robustness of the proposed antenna.
