Geospatial Capacity building shall aim for empowering individuals and groups with geospatial skills, and enhancing the knowledge and resources of individuals, organizations, and communities to effectively utilize geospatial tools and data for various purposes to enable them to make informed decisions and contribute positively to various fields tailored to the needs of the participants and the specific applications they intend to address. Open source encourages the sharing of knowledge, code, and best practices. This approach can be particularly valuable for capacity building due to its accessibility, flexibility, and collaborative nature. Promoting Geospatial Open source can lead to the development of repositories, libraries, and tools that others can use and learn from. The open source platform shall encourage the potential for collaboration with existing open source communities and the availability of relevant open source tools.
