About
We are looking at the possible development of optical Metamaterials. These are artificially structured materials which are engineered to exhibit unique properties that arise out of their internal structure and geometry, leading to properties which are not observed regular bulk materials. A combination of sub wavelength internal structures, negative electric permittivity and magnetic permeability leads to unique properties including cloaking! This project aims at utilizing the self assembly of block copolymers followed by metal deposition to develop fabrication route to optical metamaterials in visible wavelength range.
