About
Dynamic mechanical analyser (DMA) is a versatile equipment used to quantify a wide range of fundamental material properties as functions of time, temperature and frequency. Although inherent technology is not yet well-known, its applications are growing in wider domains of both industries and academia owing to greater research emphasis on advanced functional materials. This compels the users in India to import the product at an escalated price. The proposal aims to design and indigenously develop a state-of-the-art DMA and reveal the relevant technologies to the academic and R&D institutions in India. DMA would not only cater to the needs of larger population of users in India due to low cost option but is also expected to be highly competitive in the global market. The development of such an instrument will also promote an interdisciplinary knowledge and skilled human resource with a potential to build similar equipment in the relevant areas.
