Project Overview

In the era of modernization where the quality of health care in urban areas of India is almost equivalent to that of developed countries, the medical infrastructure available in rural India is below par. The facilities need to be uniformly distributed in rural and urban societies. Dyselectrolemia is a major cause of morbidity in the geriatric age group and in people with non communicable diseases. Till date there are no cost effective devices which may aid in identification and treatment of dyselectrolemia in such areas leading on to preventable causes of death and disability. Therefore, this project aims to develop a cheap, hand held portable device which can iron out this problem. Thus our plan is to miniaturize the existing technology, test its efficiency extensively and then to market it at an affordable cost to the rural and urban health care systems of our country.
