National Institute for Interdisciplinary Science and Technology (NIIST)
Project Overview
This is a technology developed by CSIR-NIIST and commercialized. The use of this technology is for enhanced seed/sapling germination, plant biomass, and yield besides the suppression of fungal and bacterial diseases. This was developed through a consortium of three endophytic bacterial strains isolated from agricultural crops. The studies were confirmed that this formulation is effective against all the crops tested like cereals, pulses, vegetables including leafy types, plantation crops, floriculture plants. The production capacity of 10,000 liters per batch is developed with three months shelf life period under preserved condition.
Benefits
The product developed is eco-friendly, cost-effective, and easy to handle will have a high potential in the agriculture sector particularly among the farming community, who want to minimize the use of toxic synthetic chemicals in their fields.
