About
Jet noise is one of the primary factors that induces dynamic load on vehicle structures during lift-off of launch vehicle. The high level of vibration produced during lift-off can lead to malfunction of electric/electronic packages, control system components and fatigue failure of light weight structures. Further, the noise specifications in the crew module are also governed by the jet noise. Hence, the transmission of the jet noise is an essential technology to be developed for efficient design of the crew module and associated systems. The jet noise distribution (PSD and spatial correlation) is used as a forcing function to compute the transmitted noise along a structure.
