Research Projects

The 3D models of urban areas assist in better visualization of urban areas as well can be useful for building typologies, landscape morphological characteristics, urban climate studies and many more applications for urban planners. This involves review and development of algorithms for automatic extraction of buildings, reconstruction of building planes and construction of 3D model using LiDAR and high-resolution stereo pair data. Currently, emphasis is given to develop methods for generating the 3D models using high-resolution stereo satellite data and Laser scanner based data.
