Project Overview

The study reveals that salt has a causal relationship with blood pressure in the tea garden community. Community based salt restriction programme through intense IEC activities has the potential to reduce blood pressure which may translate into significant reductions in cardiovascular morbidity and mortality. In the present study blood pressure and prevalence of hypertension is reduced significantly in the intervention group than that of control group.
