Project Overview

The thiol-based redox-sensitive proteins of the F. gigantica mitochondrial Trx (FgTrx2) is of 16kDa, whereas FgTrx1 is 11.5 kDa molecular weight with active site –WCTPC-, while the other mitochondrial Trx have –WCGPC- or –WCNPC-, none of mitochondrial Trx have –WCTPC- active site motif. Presently, the redox reaction metabolism signifies an important for drug target development, and it has not been studies elaborately in any platyhelminthic parasitic. Hear we plane to characterize FgTrx2 protein in detail to understand the redox biology of this neglected tropical parasite.
