Project Overview

Biotin supplementation to the sperm wash medium appears to be beneficial in enhancing the sperm motility and in vitro sperm survival without affecting the fertilizing ability. Beneficial effect of biotin on pre-implantation embryo development ensures that it is safe to used in ART set up. Further experiments are necessary to understand the mechanism of action of biotin in enhancement of sperm function and pre-implantation embryo development. Since biotin is an essential micronutrient, it may be a safe sperm motility enhancing agent than PTX.
