Project Overview
The significance of screening for Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) in the hospital and Community and the importance of corresponding nasal screening in patients with clinical MRSA positivity thus establishing the epidemiology in both hospital and community setting;genetic relatedness of the clinical and corresponding nasal isolates, the role of the latter forming the source of infection in the concerned/respective individual thus indicating the scope for future work -Evaluation and assessing the feasibility of PCR in providing a more confirmatory result compared to phenotypic method.Evaluation and assessing the feasibility of PCR in providing a more confirmatory result compared to phenotypic method-Utility of PCR in diagnostics with implication in therapy and management of both colonized and infected patients.
