About
The aim is to improve the aerosol filtration efficiency of commonly available cloth masks by coating their fabrics with a new class of inorganic nanosheets that we have discovered at IIT Gandhinagar. These nanosheets present a unique synergy ? extraordinarily high-surface area (which increases the number of capturing sites), and TiO2 functional groups (which make the coating anti-viral in nature). Specifically chose this nanomaterial have recently developed a one-step method to synthesize these nanosheets in high-yields; approach is frugal and environmentally friendly.
