About

Objective: Clarification, Purification and Disinfection of Contaminated Water by Advanced Separation Systems of Antifouling Hollow Fiber and Nanofiltration Membranes.

Summary: The UF membranes are capable to separate bacteria, larger size viruses, cyst, proteins, enzymes, colloids, etc., and are useful for disinfection of drinking water, purification of proteins and enzymes, treatment of industrial waste waters, etc. It has advantages of excellent mass transfer, self-supporting structure, good flexibility, simple module design. NF membrane process is one of the most efficient processes in terms of productivity because of its high water permeability particularly in the treatment of turbid water containing suspended particles, pathogens and other harmful contaminants. The present work aims to develop advanced UF membranes for the development of indigenous technologies for domestic and industrial uses and to prepare high flux antifouling nanofiltration membrane 4040 module for water disinfection and decontamination. At present, there is no manufacturer of NF membrane in the country.
