About

Objective: The project envisages to achieve detailed mechanistic understanding of role of tumor microenvironment-dependent functions of human ZMYND8 in overall colon cancer pathogenesis. Since over-expression of ZMYND8 is a predominant feature in majority of solid tumors (Fig. 1). our proposed work also envisages in identifying targets that could potentially be used for therapeutic interventions for combating multiple cancers. Functions of human ZMYND8 in tumor microenvironment-mediated transcriptional reprogramming has not been studied before. Thus, our proposed study is completely a novel one. Further, since ZMYND8 is over-expressed in multiple cancer patient samples (Fig.1), our proposed study would also be applicable for significant number of solid tumors beside the colorectal cancer that we are proposing as our cancer model.
