Objective: To produce glycation resistant proteoforms of insulin by site-directed mutagenesis of lysine and arginine residues. To evaluate the binding and activity of recombinant insulin in vitro by using biophysical and cell-based assays . To evaluate the in vivo efficiency, pharmocokinetics and immune response of recombinant insulin using diabetic rat model. To perform preclinical (toxicological studies) using diabetic rat models.
