About
The increasing heat dissipation rates and decreasing sizes in electronic devices have led to a growing demand for efficient cooling techniques. Phase change material (PCM)-based heat sinks are increasingly important due to their high latent heat storage capacity. However, PCMs have poor thermal conductivity, making it difficult to design and characterize thermal management systems. This proposal aims to develop a hybrid heat sink with a finned heat pipe, a passive heat exchanger with high thermal conductivity, to improve PCM-based electronic thermal management. The hybrid heat sink will be tested experimentally and numerically under various conditions, and the finned heat sink will be systematically joined for thermal performance.
